CHARACTER QUOTES: spiritual thoughts to carefully weigh and consider.

21 Mar

—We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy your precious moments.—

After looking at the way things are on this earth, here’s what I’ve decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that’s about it.  Ecclesiastes 5:18

God wants a relationship, not religion fanatics and he wants to help everyone.–

 No one who trusts God like this—heart and soul—will ever regret it.  It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.” Romans 10:11

–The heart always arrives.–

As a man thinketh in his heart; so is he.  Proverbs 23:7

 –Faith is the ability to not panic.–

That’s why we live with such good cheer. You won’t see us drooping our heads or dragging our feet! Cramped conditions here don’t get us down. They only remind us of the spacious living conditions ahead. It’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going. 2 Corinthians 5:7

–If you worry, you didn’t pray. If you pray, don’t worry.–

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.   Phillipians 4:8

–As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.–

That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything.  Mark 11:22

–Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.–

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
   don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
   he’s the one who will keep you on track.  Proverbs 3:5

-–There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.–

A miserable  heart means a miserable life; a cheerful heart fills the day with song. Proverbs 15:15

–The most important things in your home are the people.–

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.  Ephesians  4:32

–A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.-

Don’t seek revenge or carry a grudge against any of your people.   Love your neighbor as yourself.  I am God.  Leviticus 19:18

–He who dies with the most toys is still dead.–

A pretentious, showy life is an empty life;
   a plain and simple life is a full life.  Proverbs 13:7

–Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you’re seeking require courage and risk-taking.–

If with heart and soul you’re doing good, do you think you can be stopped? Even if you suffer for it, you’re still better off. Don’t give the opposition a second thought. Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master.  1 Peter 3:18

–Learn from the turtle — it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.–

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.  Ephesians 3:20

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.–

Your reputation… I’m not going to walk around on eggshells worrying about what small-minded people might say; I’m going to stride free and easy, knowing what our large-minded Master has already said. If I eat what is served to me, grateful to God for what is on the table, how can I worry about what someone will say? I thanked God for it and he blessed it!  1 Corinthians 10:29

Your character…My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.  1 John 3:18

–Do the math. Count your blessings.–

Stay alert, with your eyes wide open in gratitude.  Colossians 4:2

–Dear God: I have a problem. It’s me. When I get tangled up in problems,  help me to be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.–

Let go [of your concerns]! Then you will know that I am God. I rule the nations. I rule the earth. Psalm 46:10
